Suspension of BSF activities – Statement from BSF founder, Ms Sonja Licht

Belgrade, July 11, 2022

Dear friends and partners of Belgrade Security Forum

With great sadness I must inform you that, for the time being, the Belgrade Security Forum will have to suspend its activities. GLOBSEC was the birth place of the idea to create a similar event in Belgrade, the entire team of Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence embraced it, and we decided to invite the European Movement of Serbia and Belgrade Center for Security Policy to join us in this endeavor. However, without all of you friends, supporters, partners it would never manage to last eleven years. Excellent panelists, eminent statesmen and women, a highly motivated audience with the support of a great team of committed members of the three organization, including hundreds of young volunteers made BSF a venue of high-level dialogues, networking and new friendships.

As the Founder and Chair of its Steering Committee I had the pleasure to open the BSF every time during those challenging years. Thank you all for being part of an immensely rich dialogue within relevant stakeholders from Western Balkan and beyond and to express the hope that you will remain with us in the future in our quest to develop the entire Balkan peninsula in a sustainable democracy, a peaceful and appealing constitutive part of the European community of people.

Yours cordially,

Sonja Licht
