Trendsetting in the Western Balkans

The Belgrade Security Forum and the Visegrad Insight are organizing the online event “TRENDSETTING IN THE WESTERN BALKANS”  that will take place on Friday, Dec. 4, at 11:00 AM.

We are organizing the conversation on potential sets of events (triggers) and trends which would have profound implications on the future of the Western Balkans region. This meeting will be both a follow-up to the Belgrade Security Forum 2020 and a sneak peek of the upcoming report from Visegrad Insight’s “Western Balkans Trends” brainstorming exercises that served to identify and highlight the issues and combinations of factors that will frame the future development of the region. We aim to explore new perspectives and question the dominant paradigms about the Western Balkans.

Questions that will be addressed during the online panel are:

What lies ahead of the Western Balkans?
What obstacles the region needs to overcome?
How can we secure successful futures?

This event will take place on Friday, 4 December 2020 at 11 AM CET and will feature:

Introductory remarks:

  • Wojciech Przybylski , Visegrad Insight

  • Marko Savkovic, Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence, Belgrade Security Forum

  • Ivan Stefanovski, EUROTHINK – Center for European Strategies

  • Balsa Lubarda, Central European University
