Biography

Vladimir Baranovsky is director of the Center for Situation Analysis (CSA) and a board member of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO), Russian Academy of Sciences. Furthermore he is a professor at Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) and a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. His professional interests include Soviet/Russian foreign policy, international security, European integration and arms control. He has over 200 publications to his credit: books, articles and contributions to volumes published in various countries. He is a member of many scientific and expert councils of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the Council for Foreign and Defence Policy (Moscow), the International Institute for Strategic Studies (London), the Governing Board of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI); conseil stratégique de l’Institut français des relations internationales (Paris) as well as the advisory and/or editorial boards of five professional journals.
