Urban Jakša holds a BA in International Relations and an MA in Political Theory from the University of Ljubljana. He began work on his PhD in geopolitics at the University of York in October 2013. Urban’s research focuses on the geopolitics of Eastern Europe, in particular the Western Balkans and the South Caucasus. In 2010 Urban worked as a research fellow at CRRC in Yerevan, conducting research on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the IAPSS Journal Politikon and published numerous articles in Slovenian and foreign journals. Urban has also conducted study visits to Transnistria and Kosovo and has organized or participated in more than 30 international conferences, forums and seminars.
