Biography

Gisele Laffont is an Argentine journalist with a passion for global issues. She produced the Argentine section of the Global Civics documentary, which was directed by Chinese filmmaker Jian Yi and produced in 9 countries simultaneously, she was also responsible for the translation into Spanish of the final piece. In 2012, she organized and coordinated a workshop for Dialogues on Global Civics, a publication that she co-authored in a true global effort with more than 60 other people from around the world. In 2009, she was a recipient of a Knight Foundation Scholarship to attend the Salzburg Academy on Media & Global Change, where she discovered her interest for multimedia projects. Since then, she has participated in the production of several documentaries, including the award-winning project Now What, Argentina? Laffont graduated with honors from Universidad Católica Argentina, where she studied Communications and Journalism. She has worked for the Salzburg Global Seminar in Austria and also for the Buenos Aires City Government in Argentina.
