Franz Lothar Altman

Franz-Lothar Altmann is Associate Professor at the UNESCO department for International & Intercultural Relations at Bucharest State University. He also serves as a (co-)editor of the Journal for Southeast European and Black Sea Studies and is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Balkan Policy Research and of the Romanian Journal of Sociology. He is a member of the board of the ‘Southeast Europe Association’, and the BTI (Bertelsmann Transformation Index). He has published 10 books and more than 260 articles on East and South East European economics and politics, transformation and European integration.He has had teaching appointments at the German Air Force Officers´ College (1973-74), Boston University Economics Department (1976), Bucharest State University (since 2005) and Portland State University (2009).
