Kilian Kleinschmidt is an international networker, humanitarian and refugee expert with over 25 years of experience in a wide range of countries. He has worked in emergencies at refugee camps as a United Nations official, an aid worker, and as a diplomat. He is the founder and CEO of the start-up, “Innovation and Planning Agency” (IPA), which aims to connect marginalised parts of the globe with the technological resources and know-how needed to catalyse change. Kilian Kleinschmidt became known as the Mayor of Za’atari when he managed the Za’atari refugee camp in Northern Jordan from 2013-2014 on behalf of UNHCR. Now he is shaking up the Humanitarian Aid Sector with a range of new and unorthodox partnerships, technologies and ways of financing. He is an advisor to governments, international organizations as well as socially-oriented businesses, and is a coveted public speaker at conferences, TEDx and other events.
