Biography
Emilija Davidović was born in 1994 in Belgrade, which is also her current residence. In 2017 she obtained BA in International relations at the Faculty of Political sciences at the University of Belgrade. That same year she enrolled in European Regional Master’s Programme in Democracy and Human rights (ERMA), obtaining a double MA degree from the University of Sarajevo and the University of Bologna in 2018.
During her studies, she was intern at the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy and at B.a.B.e., a women’s rights NGO in Zagreb. She received a Global Campus internship award for being the best student of her generation at ERMA and she completed her internship at NGO Atina, where she worked on research related to trafficking in human beings and gender-based violence. After completing the internship, Emilija worked for a year and a half at CPA Global, a company dealing with intellectual property administration. During that time, she also collaborated with the University of Bergamo’s master programme in “Prevention and fight against radicalization, terrorism and for integration policies” (MaRTe). In 2020 she held a course at Master MaRTe on the topic “Women’s response to extremist violence: a European perspective on the pathways towards radicalization”.
Since May 2021 she has been employed as Academic Tutor at Master MaRTe. Besides working with foreign students, she is also engaged in writing project proposals focusing on violent extremism. cumulative extremism and reciprocal radicalization. She is an outreach worker and a volunteer at Association Prevent since 2019, working on harm reduction program with substance users. Previously, she participated in numerous volunteer activities and exchanges in collaboration with Civil Rights Defenders, Youth Initiative for Human Rights, Young Researchers of Serbia and many others, including helping with the organization of Belgrade Security Forum is 2016 and 2017.
