Seyed Vahid Karimi is Director for Europe at IPIS. From 1990 he worked at the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran and as a diplomat at the embassies in Ireland, Germany, Britain & New York. He was also director of the Euro-American Center at the Institute for Political and International Studies – IPIS. He has a PhD in International Relations – Research from Queen Mary College, University of London, presented at Tehran University. His thesis was: “British Defence Policy in NATO and its impact upon French withdrawal from NATO”. He teaches at various universities on the subjects of Strategy, the EU, NATO and European affairs, the “Special Relationship” between Britain and the United States of America, the Persian Gulf and US foreign policy since 1945.
