Biography

Amb. Daniel Schaer is Estonian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. Daniel Erik Schaer was born in 1978 in Toronto. He is a graduate of the University of British Columbia in International Relations and has a Master’s degree in European Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges. Daniel Erik Schaer has worked at the Foreign Ministry since 2003, beginning in the Information Department and International Personnel Division. As of 2008, Schaer worked as Charge d’Affaires as part of the Estonian Special Mission to Afghanistan, and then at the Permanent Representation of Estonia to the EU in Brussels as the Estonian representative in the civilian crisis management committee. From March to July of 2011, Schaer was the Special Representative of the Foreign Minister in Lebanon. From 2011 until September 2015, he was in the European Union’s Foreign Service, as the head of the political department of the EU delegation in Rwanda. Since 2003, Daniel Erik Schaer at the Foreign Ministry, where he has been in the information office and the staff of international policy bureau. Since 2008, worked as a clerk Schaer Estonian Special Mission to Afghanistan, and then the Estonian representation of the European Union in Brussels, a representative of the Estonian civil crisis management committee. As of January of this year, Schaer is the Estonian Ambassador to Macedonia*.
