Biography

Irena Bošković graduated from the University of Montenegro, Faculty of Philosophy, Department for English language and literature. As of 2003 she has been working in the Gender Equality Office of the Government of Montenegro first as trainee and then as an adviser. In 2009 started working as the senior adviser/coordinator of the Department for Gender Equality in the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights in Montenegro, and now is at the same position within the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights in Montenegro. Additional improvement and education she gained through numerous seminars/workshops/conferences on human rights issues and gender equality in country and abroad. Regarding professional experience, she coordinated the development of the Initial Report on CEDAW implementation in Montenegro (2009-2010); Participated in the development of different national reports – the segment of gender equality: Millennium Development Goals, Universal Periodic Review etc.; Coordinates and participates in various projects related to the advancement of women’s rights implemented in Montenegro by the Department for Gender Equality in cooperation with international organizations. Has excellent knowledge of English language and advanced in Italian language.
