Biography

Zhang Qi is research fellow and Vice-Director-General at the Research Department of Foreign Economic Relations, Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC). She studied at Peking University in 1991 and got a Bachelor’s Degree in international politics. In 1997, she graduated from Columbia University of USA and got a Master’s Degree in economic policy management. She worked in the International Cooperation Department of DRC in 1991 and was appointed Deputy Director in 1994. She was transferred to the Research Department of Foreign Economic Relations of DRC in 1998 and took the post of Deputy Director. From 1999-2000, she worked as a consultant on economic affairs in the Head Office of OECD in Paris. From 2000 to 2005, she was first Director and research fellow and later took the post of Deputy Director-General of the Research Department of Foreign Economic Relations of DRC. Her research field covers economic management systems relating to foreign economies, international trade, cross-border investment, regional economic cooperation and multi-trade systems.
