Biography

Youssef Cherif is the head of Columbia Global Centers|Tunis. He is also a Tunis-based political analyst and a member of the Carnegie Civic Research Network. He was previously the Al-Maidan Libya Project manager at the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) and an expert affiliated to the Tunisian Institute for Strategic Studies (ITES). He was a consultant for the Arab Institute for Business Managers, the United Nations, The Carter Center in Tunisia, etc. Youssef holds a Chevening Master of Arts in International Relations from the Dept. of War Studies at King’s College London, and a Fulbright Master of Arts in Classical Studies from Columbia University. He regularly comments and writes on North African affairs, focusing on politics and International Relations, for several media outlets and think tanks. His work appeared on CNN, Al Jazeera English, BBC, France 24, the Atlantic Council, DGAP, IEMed, etc.
