Predrag Marić is Assistant Minister of the Interior and has headed the Sector for Emergency Situations since 2007. In 1990 he graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade. As he finished his specialized studies at the Faculty of Law he started his career in the Ministry of the Interior, in the administration dealing with fire prevention and technical protection. He was made a knight of the Ordre National du Mérite by the President of the French Republic for his special contribution in constructing protection and rescue systems and his work in emergency situations. The President of the Republic of Serbia awarded him a Gold Medal for dedicated service in 2011. He received the Best Citizen of Belgrade Award in 2009. He also won first prize at the Day of the Ministry of Interior in 2004 for the results of his work. He won the Contribution of the Year to Europe award in 2014. He is the author of several books in the field of criminology, terrorism and emergency situations.
