Biography

Oliver Ivanović is a Former State Secretary of the Ministry for Kosovo and Metohija. He graduated from the Technical School in Mitrovica and studied at the Military Academy in Zagreb, completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering in Kosovska Mitrovica, then becoming a graduate student at the Faculty of Economics in Priština. His political career began in June 1999, when he was elected president of the Serbian National Executive Council (SNC) of northern Kosovo. He served as president of the SNC and President of the Municipal Board of the SNC in Kosovska Mitrovica. He headed the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo from August 2001. During the parliamentary elections organized by the international community in November 2001, he was elected as a deputy in the Assembly and as a member of the Kosovo Assembly Presidency. He was on the Serbian List for Kosovo and Metohija in Kosovo’s parliamentary elections in October 2004 and was also a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). He is fluent in English, Albanian and Italian.
