Biography

Mr Darko Stančić is DCAF Assistant Director and the Head of DCAF Operations Southeast Europe Division. In this role, he holds an overall responsibility for DCAF’s portfolio of activities supporting the development of democratic security sector governance in South East Europe. This includes programmes in the field of parliamentary oversight of security, police and border security reform, activities to foster intelligence accountability, and civil society support.

Darko has over 20 years of professional experience designing and implementing development assistance programs in conflict and post conflict settings. Prior to joining DCAF, Darko coordinated a portfolio of governance programs of the OSCE which were focused on decentralisation as well as local and regional government development. He has significant experience and expertise in planning, implementation and monitoring of electoral processes in post-conflict contexts and has worked in the field of emergency humanitarian relief with Médecins sans Frontières and the Red Cross.
