Biography

Jozef Bátora is professor at the Department of Political Science at Comenius University in Bratislava and at IR Department, Webster Vienna Private University. He holds a PhD in political science from the University of Oslo. His work experience includes positions as visiting professor at The Europe Center, FSI, Stanford University,  research fellow at the Institute for European Integration Research at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna, senior researcher at ARENA – Centre of European Studies at the University of Oslo, and visiting scholar at Scancor, Stanford University. In the period 2012-2015, he served as coordinating editor of Journal of International Relations and Development. His research focuses on institutional change dynamics in diplomacy, EU governance and security. His articles were published in a number of leading peer reviews journals. His most recent book is Crises, EU Trajectories and the Question of Resilience (co-edited with John E. Fossum, forthcoming with Routledge).
