Biography

Giacomo Bazzani is a PhD candidate in Political and Social Change at the University of Turin, Department of Culture, Politics and Society, and at University of Florence, Department of Social and Political Sciences. He graduated with honours at Florence University in Sociology and Social Research with thesis in Sociological Theory. He has done research and published books and articles on the topics of Chinese migration in Italy with fieldwork lasting two years in the city of Prato; theories of modernity; contemporary art and social change, Actor Network Theory. Currently he makes research on the economization processes and its effects in public policies, including the refugee reception. He has participated as speaker or lecturer at numerous international conferences; at the universities of Cambridge, Aix-en-Provence and Utrecht among others.
