Biography

Franco Frattini is an Italian politician. He is currently serving as President of the Italian Society for International Organization (SIO), is President of the De Gasperi Foundation and is also Chamber President of the Italian Supreme Administrative Court. Prior to his appointment, he pursued his political career, holding various positions including Minister for the Civil Service and for the Coordination of Information and Security Services (2001-2002), Minister for Foreign Affairs (2002‑2004 and 2008‑2011) and Vice President of the European Commission for Justice, Freedom and Security (2004‑2008). Mr. Frattini graduated in law and is fluent in Italian, English and French. He is a candidate for the post of NATO Secretary General.
