Biography

Florian Qehaja is the Executive Director of the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies, a security related think tank in Kosovo. In addition, he has been an assistant lecturer at various universities in Kosovo. Florian is the author of several scientific publications in the security field, as well as being author/co-author of local and international publications in the fields of security, rule of law and regional cooperation. He is also an international consultant on Security Sector Reform, Rule of Law and Good Governance, cooperating with leading international governmental and non-governmental organizations. He is currently serving as a national expert at the consultancy “Building Integrity in the Defence Sector”, covering the case of Kosovo. From 2005 to 2007, he worked at the International Relations Office of the University of Prishtina as Coordinator of the International Summer University of Prishtina. Florian Qehaja is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Social Sciences (Department of Security Studies) at the University of Ljubljana. The topic of his PhD research is “Local ownership and security sector development in Kosovo”. He also has an MA in Contemporary European Studies from the University of Sussex (United Kingdom), while he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Prishtina.
