Session 3: Women’s Contribution to Peace, Democracy and Development in the Balkan Region (In partnership with the Slovak OSCE Chairmanship and Slovak Aid)

  • How could women’s active participation in conflict prevention be promoted?
  • What are the possibilities for active participation of women in conflict prevention and resolution?
  • What is and what should be the role of the women in long term planning and strategic thinking in the field of conflict prevention and creation of strategies in the security field

 

The breakout session under the title Women’s Contribution to Peace, Democracy and Development in the Balkan Region aims to promote and support women’s active and meaningful participation in all conflict-prevention and conflict-resolution mechanisms and institutions (formal and informal), and mainstream a gender perspective into all peace and security activities and strategies.The session will aim to explore further possibilities and opportunities for active women engagement in the national and regional politics, with the aim of bringing new narratives into political arena and fueling bilateral and regional cooperation through applying innovative approaches.
